In this case, making a straight line along theta from h will still be to the left of x. A freely falling object can fall anywhere between 0 and the line along theta with its inital velocity varying from 0 to infinity, but if x is located to the right of where the line made by theta crosses the ground, then no speed will get it to x. Theta would have to be changed.
