Tying Instructions

1.
Attach thread to hook and wind back to the bend of the hook. Tie in a small bunch of elk hair so that the tail is as long as the hook gap is wide. Tie in the brown hackle tip first (which by the way should be a few sizes too small for that particular size hook...)

2.
Dub the body 2/3 the way up the hook. Palmer the brown hackle up to the same point.

3.
Tie in the wing. It should extend back approximately to the end of the tail.

4.
Tie in the grizzly hackle and dub the orange thorax. Wrap the hackle over the thorax so some of the orange is exposed.

5.
No. you can stop now. You're done.

Note:

The Stimulator was designed by one of Oregon's famous flyfishermen, Randall Kaufmann, who is the author of several books on fly fishing and tying, and owner of the Kaufmann's Streamborn chain of fly shops. ------------------------------------------------
