Occaisionally one of these will show up floating down the lower McKenzie in summer, as this one did. Their nymphs are burrowers, and its a bit surprising to me that a fast rocky river like the McKenzie would provide the right sort of conditions for these to survive... But nevertheless every once in a while one of thes monsters show up, if only to make anglers (& possibly fish) confused for a few minutes. For what its worth, these are pretty much the largest mayflies there are, & are very common in the midwest.
