Green Drake

(body length approx. 1.3 cm)

These are fairly common on the McKenzie, especially in the moderately fast water with submerged vegetation. They are the largest of the mayfly crawlers. Note that there are gills on its 'belly' under each leg.

Green drakes hatch within a spread of a couple days in mid June.
