Bruce Balick is a Professor of Astronomy at the University
of Washington.  He has had a career long interest in the
ionization structure of Planetary Nebulae.  He was also the
project scientist for the now successfully completed 3.5-m
ARC telescope located at Apache Junction, New Mexico.
