M61, also known as NGC 4303,  has a bright nucleus but a relatively
faint outer disk.  It is a similar type of galaxy as M74 only
it is significantly further away and is likely a member of the Virgo
Cluster.  Its overall size is 6.5 x 5.8 arcmintues.
