beowulf
Earlier Versions
beowulf version 1.0
Version 1.0 is available. This is the version used to produce the
results in
Phys. Rev. D62, 014009 (2000),
hep-ph/9910292.
As far as I know, version 1.0 is free of bugs. However, version
1.1 is a bit faster.
There are two program files. The top level routines in beowulf.f can
be easily modified by the user to calculate any three-jet-like infrared
safe quantity or to change some of the parameters that the program uses. The
subrountines in beowulfsubs.f should not be modified.
beowulf version 0.7
This is the version used to produce the results in
Phys. Rev. Lett. 81, 2638 (1998),
hep-ph/9804454
and is retained here for archival purposes.
Beware: there is a bug in beowulf version 0.7. The error is in the
logic of the routines for choosing Monte Carlo points. It had the
result that in some regions of momentum space the calculated density of
points did not match the actual density of points. This led to
discrepancies of 1% to 2% in the results. I thank M.
Seymour and Z. Kunszt for providing results that helped me find
problem. The deficiency is corrected in version 1.0, available under
the preceding heading.
